Wallets and sign-in

Your wallet is your account. There is no email or password. Swaps use your wallet directly; liquidity provision is optional. This page covers which wallets work, what you are asked to sign and when, and what opcode will never ask for.

Supported wallets

Phantom, Solflare and Backpack, on Solana mainnet. On a computer, install the browser extension. On a phone, opcode has to run inside the wallet's own browser: if your phone browser has no wallet, the dialog offers Open in Phantom, Open in Solflare and Open in Backpack, which reopen this page in that wallet. On a computer, if the dialog says no supported wallet was detected, the extension is what is missing.

Hardware wallets that connect over USB are not supported directly. Use one through a supported wallet if that wallet offers it.

Signing in

  1. Ask for a quote

Looking at markets never needs a wallet. While you are signed out, Get quote, Get firm quote and, in Pools, Connect to continue open the Sign in with a wallet dialog.

  2. Choose a wallet and an account

If your wallet exposes more than one account, pick the one you want to trade from.

  3. Approve the message

Your wallet shows a message that names this site, your address, a one-time code and an expiry, and the sentence “Sign in to Opcode. This request does not authorize a transaction or transfer any assets.” Signing it proves the address is yours. It costs nothing and moves nothing.

You stay signed in on this browser for seven days. If you switch accounts inside your wallet, opcode signs you out and asks again, so a quote can never be built for one account and signed by another.

What you will sign

You are shownWhenWhat it does
A sign-in messageOnce per browser, every seven daysProves you control the address. Authorizes nothing.
A swap transactionEach time you sign a quoteOn OPmode, moves exactly the two amounts on the review panel. On Quick, spends your input and receives at least the minimum shown. Plus the network fee.
A pool transactionOnly if you deposit to or withdraw from a poolMoves both assets within the maximums or minimums you reviewed, in exchange for pool shares or back from them.
A launch transactionOnly if you create or trade a token on Launch, or claim its rewardsDoes what the Launch page showed you before you approved it. See How a launch works.

Balances

Portfolio shows what your address holds: SOL for fees, USDC, and any stock tokens. Each figure is read from the chain at a single slot and is marked Verified with the slot and time it was observed. If a consistent reading cannot be obtained, the balance is shown as unavailable rather than guessed.

Stock token balances are shown in raw tokens, with the equivalent in scaled units, which count shares, beneath. Dividends, splits and the multiplier explains the difference.

Signing out

Choose your wallet address at the top right of the terminal, then Sign out. The session is revoked on the server, not merely forgotten by your browser.

Go deeperHow the sign-in is verified

opcode uses Sign-In With Solana where the wallet supports it and a signed text message otherwise. The server issues a challenge bound to your browser, valid for five minutes and usable once. It verifies the Ed25519 signature against your address, checks that the domain and address inside the signed text are the ones it issued, and only then opens a session in an HttpOnly cookie that scripts on the page cannot read. Requests that change anything must also come from this site's own origin.
