Fees and limits
What each route charges, stated before you sign. Plus what the network charges, which opcode does not receive.
Quick
| opcode platform fee | 0% |
| Trading fee | the route's own fee, as quoted by Jupiter, shown on the review before you sign |
| Slippage tolerance | fixed at 0.50%; the minimum received reflects it |
The OPmode fee
| Rate | 5 basis points, which is 0.05% |
| Charged on | the amount you pay |
| Paid in | the asset you pay with: USDC on a buy, the token on a sell |
| Rounding | up to the next smallest unit |
| Where it goes | 80% stays in the pool for its liquidity providers; 20% goes to the protocol fee vault |
| Shown | on the review panel, before you sign |
The fee is included, not added. If you choose to pay 100 USDC, exactly 100 USDC leaves your wallet: 0.05 is the trading fee and 99.95 buys tokens. One basis point is one hundredth of a percent.
opcode buys $OP back on the open market from its protocol fee revenue, as that revenue accrues. No on-chain rule sets the amount or the timing.
The spread is not a fee
On OPmode you usually buy slightly above the reference and sell slightly below it. That difference is the pool's price for taking the other side of your trade. It varies with size, with the feed's confidence and with the pool's inventory, and the inventory adjustment can move either price across the reference. The review panel's Price row is the amount paid divided by the amount received, fee included, with its distance from the reference in basis points, so that distance includes the 5 bps fee as well as the spread. The fee rate does not change with size or inventory.
Network costs
| Cost | Roughly | When | Paid to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transaction fee | a small fraction of a cent, in SOL | every swap, including failed ones | Solana validators |
| Priority fee | set by the route on Quick; 120 lamports on OPmode | every swap | Solana validators |
| Token account rent | about 0.002 SOL | the first time you hold a given token | locked in your own account; you recover it by closing the account |
| Receipt rent | about 0.002 SOL | every OPmode fill | locked in the on-chain receipt |
The Quick review shows an estimate of the network fee and account rent before you sign. Keep about 0.01 SOL in your wallet and you will not run short.
What there is not
- No additional protocol fee for an LP deposit or withdrawal; network fees and account rent still apply.
- No fee for a quote you do not take, or one that expires.
- No fee for holding, and no inactivity fee.
- Nothing to buy, stake or hold for a better rate. The fee is the same for everyone, and trading never requires $OP.
Limits
| Limit | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| OPmode order limit | 100 USDC on NVDAx; 20 USDC on the other nine OPmode markets | Bounds what any one quote can do to a pool. |
| OPmode fixed 60-second window limit | 500 USDC on NVDAx; 100 USDC on the other nine OPmode markets | Bounds turnover within each window; adjacent windows can permit a larger burst. |
| OPmode quote lifetime | up to 10 seconds | At least five seconds remain for wallet review when the quote is returned. |
| Quote requests | 12 per minute per wallet, on each route | Each OPmode quote reserves inventory that nobody else can be quoted against. |
Pools also have limits of their own, enforced on chain. Risk controls lists them.
